About Me

In my practice in Old Town, Alexandria, I enjoy working with adults, adolescents, and couples. Although I work with people on a variety of different issues, my specialties include anxiety disorders, depression, and relationship issues. I have trained and practiced in a variety of treatment approaches so that I may offer all clients an individualized approach to meet their therapy goals. I believe that therapy should promote not only relief from current stressors, but should provide clients with the tools to make lasting personal change.

In addition to my work at my private practice, I am active in professional organizations dedicated to promoting the field of psychology and the delivery of psychological services to the public. I am currently a member of the Virginia Psychological Association's Psychologically Healthy Workplace Committee. I am the past Vice President of the Northern Virginia Society of Clinical Psychologists, and also previously served as the Society’s Continuing Education Chairperson. I also hold memberships in the American Psychological Association, the Virginia Psychological Association, and the Virginia Academy of Clinical Psychologists. I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1998 from George Mason University, following completion of an internship at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA.
